Why it exists
Sealed product is sold on FOMO. "Rip this box!" — when the math usually says you'd be better off buying the exact cards you want. The fun of ripping is real, but it isn't the same thing as value, and the hobby rarely tells you the difference. Cardvocate does: pick a set and it gives you a straight answer — rip it or buy it? — with live prices and clearly-labeled estimates behind every number.
The honest part
We separate the fun of opening packs from the value of the cards, so neither one fools you. When ripping is just a tax on cards you didn't pick, we say so. When a chase is far cheaper to simply buy than to pull, we show you exactly how much. We flag what's a live price and what's an estimate. And when our affiliate links would earn us more, we still point you to the cheapest option.
Where it came from
Cardvocate started after a detour trying to build software that "beats the market." The honest lesson: a regular person isn't going to out-trade the funds — but there's real power in tools that stop normal people from getting fleeced in the markets they actually live in. For collectors, that's the sealed-vs-singles trap. So we built the tool we wanted.
Where it's headed
Today it covers Pokémon sets from the XY era (2014) through the current Mega Evolution era, with daily price refreshes. Next: deeper collection tools to help you finish the set you actually care about — the fun way and the cost-effective way at the same time. It's an early beta, and your feedback shapes it.
